  • Typical Material: Low to Medium Carbon Steel (1008-1035) for sizes up to 1 inch (cold-formed). 1045 steel for sizes over 1 inch when hot-formed (China).
  • Material and Mechanical Properties: Purchased to meet SAE J995 Grade 5.
  • Dimensions: ASME/ANSI B18.2.2
  • Zinc Plating: Purchased to meet ASTM F1941 FeZn3A
  • Hardness: HRC 32 Maximum (will typically be HRB 70 min)
  • Proof Load Strength: 120,000 PSI Minimum for sizes ¼ through 1 UNC threads, 105,000 PSI for sizes 1 1/8 through 1 ½ UNC threads; 109,000 PSI ¼ through 1 UNF threads, and 94,000 PSI for sizes 1 1/8 through 1 ½ UNF threads.

Coupling Nuts
